Steller Arts is based in Tucson, Arizona and ran by Laci Brock---scientist, artist, and all-around bird nerd.
Laci formed Steller Arts during graduate school while pursuing her Ph.D. in Planetary Sciences as a way to find a more creative outlet from her day-to-day scientific work. She began to invest time learning and experimenting with oils, watercolor, and digital media after painting with mostly acrylic and spray paints.
Her work is influenced by landscapes in our solar system and beyond from both a science and science fiction perspective. She also enjoys touching on themes of conservation and environmental science. Combining different elements or ideas into one coherent piece is what inspires her creative process.
When she isn't making art, you can find Laci playing video games, birding, eating pizza, or chasing around her fluffy shiba inu.
